Green Tea Can Reduce Prostate Cancer Risk Affected Print E-mail

      A group of Japanese scientists argue that drinking at least five cups of green tea a day may reduce the risk of prostate cancer cell growth, as published in the American Journal of Epidemiology on 20 December.

      The results showed that men who regularly drank at least five cups of green tea a day had 50% lower risk of prostate cancer than those who only drank less than one cup a day.

      The researchers explained that "Catechin", one of the chemical substance in green tea, plays an active role in reducing prostate cancer risk.

      That is why the number of patients with prostate cancer in men in Asia are much lower compared with men from the western world, linked by a high rate of consumption of green tea
