Males Mice Seducing Females Mice with 'Romance Song' Print E-mail

miceNot just humans who like to attract the opposite sex with the song, it turns out mice did the same. The scientists found a male house mice, was able to sing melodious songs to attract the attention of the female partner.

In each rat, they have a song with its trademark itself. Researchers have known for some time that male house mice have an additional voice to female, but always assumed as a squeak.

 

But the new analysis has found that squeaks were actually romantic songs are complex similar to the chirping of birds.

Dustin Penn, a researcher from the University of Vaterinary Medicine, Vienna, said, "it seems as if the house mouse may provide a new model organism for studies in animals. Who would have thought it? "He said as reported by the Telegraph, Wednesday (02/01/2012).
