bullyWith the rampant acts of bullying in schools, the parents began to busy to find ways to make their children do not become victims. However, the fact that it is also important to remember is how to teach the children so he would not be the perpetrator.

A survey conducted by Rashmi Shetgiri, MD, FAAP, assistant professor of child health, found that nearly one in six children aged 10-17 years as a perpetrator of bullying in 2007. The results of research conducted by experts from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Children's Medical Center, Dallas, has also found another interesting thing. Recorded, as much as 23 percent of children take action against bullying of younger children in 2003, while in 2007 the figure jumped to 35 percent.

There are several factors that increase the tendency of children to be perpetrators of bullying. Three of them are as follows:

1. Children who become perpetrators of bullying tend to have parents who often yelled at them or think of their children often disturbing.
2. Children with emotional problems, problems in development, as well as having behavior problems likely to be perpetrators of bullying.
3. Children who had mothers with mental health and mental level is not good, also has great potential to be perpetrators of bullying.

According to Dr. Shetgiri, which may prevent a child to be perpetrators of bullying is a good and positive communication between parents and children. From the results of his research, it appears that parents who always take the time to talk and share stories with their children have very little opportunity to raise children who become perpetrators of bullying.
