Coffee lovers all over the world can now be proud of. Not just coffee that could provide benefits, coffee grounds can be used to eliminate the odor in the waste.

Coffee grounds eliminates potential odor revealed the results of Teresa J Bandosz research, experts Chemistry at City University of New York, published in The Journal of Hazardous Materials this month.

Researchers found that coffee grounds are converted into activated carbon to absorb odor causing sulfur in the waste so well. Activated carbon is made by mixing coffee grounds with water and elemental zinc, and then dry them in the oven.

Sulfur absorption ability of both compounds caused by the presence of caffeine in coffee. As described in the New York Times, Tuesday (21/02/2012), caffeine has a nitrogen atom which increases the ability of carbon to absorb the sulfur.

Bandosz expects businessmen willing to do further research and applied to the business. He said the fresh coffee grounds are used, the better the results. Why, the fresh coffee grounds still has considerable amounts of caffeine.
