new_planetA group of astronomers believe that they have discovered a new planet in the solar system. The planet is believed to size four times larger than Jupiter and located at great distance from the Sun.

The existence of the planet is still to be seen. However, some circles believe that the evidence has been gathered through the observation of NASA's telescopes, WISE. Data related to the findings of the planet will be published this year.

Daniel Whitmire from University of Louisiana Lafayette, U.S., believe that the data could prove the existence of the planet in two years. "If true, I and my colleague, John Matese, will be turned upside down. And, it is not easy at our age," he said.

For a while, the planet is named Tyche. The name was taken from a Greek goddess who determines the fate of a city. Tyche allegedly is a giant gas planet, the same kinds of planets like Jupiter.

Tyche may occurred in the outer Oort cloud, an "remote" area in the solar system. The distance of this planet to the Sun to reach 15,000 times the Earth-Sun distance, or 375 times the distance of the Sun-Pluto.

Whitmire believes, Tyche was the main constituent of Hydrogen and Helium. He also revealed that the planet's atmosphere is similar to Jupiter's atmosphere. "You can expect this planet has a satellite," he said.

Generally, the planet is located in the Oort cloud has a temperature near absolute zero (-273 degrees Celsius). However, Tyche estimated to have a temperature of -73 degrees celsius, 4-5 times warmer than Pluto.

If proven the truth of existence, Tyche will be the ninth planet once the largest. International Astronomical Union (IAU) will be a party to approve or deny the existence of this planet.

Whitmire and Matese suspect the existence of planets based on the existence of irregularities at an angle of arrival of many comets are there in the Oort Cloud. By 20 per cent certain amount that emerged since the year 1898 has come a greater angle than it should.

Possibility, the existencey of Tyche Whitmire disclosed in an interview with The Independent on Sunday (02/13/2011). Whitmire The results were based on the discrepancy angle comet which was published in the journal Icarus this month.
